Death Valley NP is brought to you by the National Park Service.
If you go to DV without reading up on it... No! The NPS has a very comprehensive website, they answer their phone, they're on social media, there's a visitor center (with WiFi!!). Their Visitor Guide is a must-download (has good maps), it's also a downloadable bit of the NPS app. They do a good job with their roads and providing water.
One week's vehicular entrance to the park is $30. Along with tourist-friendly and camper-friendly services, DV has plenty of wilderness.
If you want to go tool around off-road, use drones, bring loose dogs, or other craziness just go to some other nearby part of the desert where that is allowed. There is no shortage of OHV spots and BLM desert nearby. Use your brain, be nice, keep the wilderness wild.
